As a white kid growing up along the Mississippi & Alabama coast, there was literally nothing I could relate to in the song "Boyz N Da Hood." But, like so many of my friends at the time, we knew we were hearing something unique and special the first time we put N.W.A. on our parents' turntables. NWA went on to release a string of controversial hit singles. One of the founding members, Ice Cube, went on to a successful rap career of his own after leaving the supergroup. From where, Cube produced and acted in many critically acclaimed movies, and now he's a sports entrepreneur.
