TMZ Sports released surveillance video Friday of former Toledo Rockets football star running back Kareem Hunt, currently with the Kansas City Chiefs, pushing and kicking a woman at a Cleveland hotel in February of this year. In the video, Hunt can be seen arguing with a young woman. He then shoves her and pushes another man into the woman after she hits Hunt in the face. Hunt proceeds to kick the woman while she is on the ground.
Hunt was not arrested after the incident on February 10 as they were unable to determine if a crime had been committed. The woman told police they "kicked her out of his room after she refused to hook up with one of the men in Kareem's entourage." Hunt's friends told police the woman used the N-word and struck another woman after being asked to leave.
The incident occurred at 3:22AM on February 10 at The Metropolitan at the 9 in Cleveland. Watch the surveillance video below.
Kareem Hunt, 23, is in his second season with the NFL Kansas City Chiefs and has been part of the reason the Chiefs have a successful 9-2 record. After 11 games, Hunt has rushed for 824 yards and 7 touchdowns while catching 26 passes for 378 yards and 7 TDs.
It's easy to see why the Chiefs would be reluctant to suspend him with that kind of performance. But, shouldn't they do something to punish this kind of behavior from one of their employees?
According to reports, neither the Chiefs nor the NFL requested the hotel surveillance video which was made available by police and the hotel.
Will the NFL suspend him now that the story has been made more widely known? Perhaps. But, frankly it will depend on how big of a public/media outcry emerges. What do you think? Tweet @ScottSands.
