US Attorney General Jeff Sessions spoke to law enforcement officials from across Northwest Ohio on Monday afternoon about crime prevention and drugs.
"Violent crime has been increasing here in Toledo, and that's deeply troubling," said Sessions. "But, thanks to our law enforcement officers, this is not hopeless. We can make America safe again."
AG Sessions announced US Attorneys Office for the Northern District of Ohio, which includes Toledo, will have two new federal prosecutors focused on violent crime - one based on Toledo, the other in Cleveland. Sessions announced 40 new assistant US attorneys nationally.
Toledo will also participate in the National Public Safety Partnership and Project Safe Neighborhoods.
