According to a press release from Hubbub Marketing former Toledo city councilman and Finance Director George Sarantou will be pulling petitions for both the Mayor's race and Toledo City Council-At Large race today at the Board of Elections.
Mr. Sarantou made the decision to pull for both races after consulting with family, friends, and other supporters. “This will allow voters the opportunity to weigh-in on where I can best serve Toledo,” he said. “Over the next year the City of Toledo will receive roughly $180 million from the federal government in response to the Covid crisis. This calls for financial expertise in the mayor’s office and on city council to determine where this money should be spent and to make sure the taxpayers are number one when it comes to spending that money. We must have accountability and transparency. We need to make sure the city’s budget is properly prepared and executed,” he said.
