Local Catholic boy's high school St John's Jesuit has announced its' decision to continue with winter sports in an e mail to parents. The Lucas County Regional Health Board of Health issued an order last week. The order states "To limit COVID-19 spread among students, all sports and extracurricular activities are prohibited from utilizing any school building interior space for practice or contests during this same period."
According to Bob Ronai, St John's athletic director, “Basically, you can’t use the facilities. There’s nothing in there that says we’ve suspended athletics, or that you can’t have athletics.
St. John's will be using off site facilities for practices and games. Are the administrators at St John's Jesuit following the spirit of the order of finding a way to skirt the issue for their own benefit?
