Maumee schools have decided to get rid of an extra credit opportunity for students after one parent complained that some students might not be as smart as her daughter and wouldn't understand the content. The content was from Prager U which is a series of short videos espousing conservative thinking about economics and government. Andrea Cutway complained to the school that although her daughter was savvy enough to understand the content other students might not be able to tell the difference in what Cutway called Alt-right content.
The school at first offered the student a different extra credit assignment but has since removed the assignment and put the student into a different class. Is censoring content from Conservative websites or sources a good move for Maumee or any school system?
