Northwest Ohio farmers have been using manure as a fertilizer for over 20 years and got some good news from researchers recently. Research is now showing that if applied in the same concentration as a synthetic fertilizer there should be no change in how it affects water quality. According to OSU extension agents many crops grow healthier and are more abundant when fertilized with manure.
