Yesterday the President announced the cancellation of the Jacksonville part of his upcoming Republican convention because of the spike in covid19 cases in that state. It's just the latest in a series of moves the President has taken since polls showed him lagging behind opponent Joe Biden. The President who for months did not endorse the wearing of face masks and was only seen rarely wearing one now has urged Americans to use masks, to wash hands, and to socially distance. Trump has also now admitted that the virus will get worse before it gets better. This goes against the optimistic outlook the President has offered since January when he said the virus would "just disappear".
Is the President falling for the media hype about the virus or does he really believe the virus is as bad as media reports have said?
