Toledo city council will vote on May 19 on a plan that would see portions of Summit Street rebuilt. Council is expected to approve the appropriation of capital funds and issuing of bonds. The plan which will see Summit rebuilt between Lafayette and Jackson streets is expected to be ready in time for Toledo to host The Solheim Cup a prestigious women's golf tournament. The administration expects visitors from around the world to come to the Glass City and wants to present itself well.
The cost at this point is expected to be $10.5 million. The street will be made pedestrian friendly, and include wider medians, no bus lane, and brick crosswalks. Pictures are below.
Do you think spending $10.5 million to fix Summit Street is a good use of tax money?
