At a press conference yesterday Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced the cancellation of the city's July 4th fireworks program, and the closing of all city pools for the summer. Saying “The notion of having tens of thousands of people jammed close to one another down on the riverfront watching fireworks is just not something that the governor is going to allow" the mayor cited Governor DeWine as the reason "he has been pretty clear that the large gatherings of people will be the last things to go back to normal.”
This follows announcements that both the Pro Medica concert series and UT's Art On The Mall event have also been cancelled for this year.
Do you think cancelling an event that celebrates our freedom and history is a good idea at this time?
