Did You Vote By Mail For Today's Primary - Tuesday 60 Minute Poll

Ohio will finally hold it's primary election today weeks after it was originally planned for March 17. Almost all votes will have been done by mail, with election boards across the state expecting very few people to cast in person and provisional ballots.

The process hasn't been without problems, but those are mostly confined to the speed at which people have received their ballots through the US Post Office. Those who applied for ballots and did not receive them can vote provisionally today but only at the county board of election office in their county.

President Trump has expressed concerns about fraud during mail in voting, shortly before voting by mail himself, but offered no proof of any wide spread fraud in the states which already do mail in voting. An extensive study in fact has shown no increase in fraudulent votes when doing elections by mail.

"None of the five states that hold their elections primarily by mail has had any voter fraud scandals since making that change. As the New York Times editorial board notes, “states that use vote-by-mail have encountered essentially zero fraud: Oregon, the pioneer in this area, has sent out more than 100 million mail-in ballots since 2000, and has documented only about a dozen cases of proven fraud.” Rounded to the seventh decimal point, that’s 0.0000001 percent of all votes cast. An exhaustive investigative journalism of all known voter fraud cases identified only 491 cases of absentee ballot fraud from 2000 to 2012".- from the Brennan Center For Justice
