Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is urging businesses to give their workers the day off on Election Day by making it a company holiday. Benson said giving employee the day off would be beneficial because it not only allows them to vote, but allows them to serve as poll workers. "At least a partial day off, you know, would definitely help," Western Michigan University senior Mark Champion said. "It's always time consuming to try and go vote."
"I think more students would vote if we had the day off because a lot of us have really busy schedules so not all of us have the time to go find a local voting place," Western Michigan University sophomore Hannah McBride said. "I think it'd be cool."
