The House of Representatives will most likely vote this week to remove the deadline set back in the 70's for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. The bill never gained the required number of states for passage originally and Congress had extended the deadline to 1982. No action in any state legislature had been taken since then until 2017 when Nevada passed it.
There is no expectation that the Senate would vote on the measure and the idea of passing legislation so many years after the deadline has never been tested in court.
