Beginning February 1 the Ohio EdChoice program is set to undergo an expansion. Some public school administrators and teacher unions are lobbying to have the program stalled or done away with completely. The claim from that side is that it destroys public schools sometimes schools that are doing well but not showing well on the state report card.
Parents meanwhile like the idea of taking their child from a school that either doesn't meet their needs or is performing poorly and puttin them in parochial and private schools.
Ohio legislators are considering a plan to put off the expansion until a more permanent soluton can be found.
