According to a report released yesterday Bernie Sanders made it clear to Elizabeth Warren in 2018 that he didn't believe a woman could win the 2020 race. Sanders and Warren are battling it out for the Democratic nomination with both of them at one time being the front runner. The meeting took place in 2018 when the two met in private and Warren tells interviewers that the two talked about possibly meeting each other as opponents on the campaign trail. The topic got to who could beat Trump whom Warren thought she could beat easily. Bernie disagreed. Warren herself backed up this account of the meeting, saying in part in a statement Monday, "I thought a woman could win; he disagreed."
They are now attacking each other on the campaign trail with Warren claiming that Sanders has his minions showing up at her events.
