A recent Blade editorial calls for the city to take action to become a stop on any proposed Hyperloop route to be built in the future. Two paths have already been proposed one of which would include Cleveland and Toledo. According to the editorial Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur has joined with a group of lobbyists, and transportation businesses to recommend this area for a partnership with Hyperloop Transportation, one of the firms looking for projects.
The editorial says a route that would connect Great Lakes communities has the best potential to draw riders. Trips from Pittsburgh to Chicago could be done in less than an hour and cost a rider less than $100 according to the Blade.
