After three years of being away from the gridiron Colin Kaepernick finally got a chance to show if he still has the skills to be an NFL quarterback on Saturday. Kaepernick had been offered an opportunity by the NFL to perform in front of NFL reps at the Atlanta Falcon facility but at the last minute and just hours before the scheduled time he changed the venue. Kaepernick decided to hold the workout at a high school about 60 miles away from the original location and to allow media to attend so that he could be filmed.
Kaepernick claimed it was for transparency purposes but the NFL disagrees. Kaepernick showed up in a t-shirt emblazoned with the name Kunta Kinte on the front, the name of a slave character in the novel Roots.
