Candidate for Judge Josh Lanzinger is in to talk about his re-election

JOSH LANZINGER was born in Cincinnati and joined his adoptive family in Toledo twelve days after birth. He attended Regina Coeli and St. Pius X grade schools and graduated from Francis de Sales High School. In 1994 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in philosophy from the University of Dayton. He then earned a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, was admitted to the bar and began practice as an associate attorney with Anspach, Meeks & Ellenberger. In 2000, he started a solo practice. After the events of 9/11, he interrupted his practice to enlist in the U.S. Army. One of the “older” recruits, he successfully completed training at Ft. Benning, GA and then was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a combat veteran he has an awareness of the significant issues veterans face. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked for the Ohio Attorney General in the workers’ compensation section, handling hundred of cases in northwest Ohio courts. He was elected as a judge in the Toledo Municipal Court in 2013. He was the administrative and presiding judge of the court in 2017-2018. Now he is seeking a second six year term during the November 5, 2019 general election for municipal judge. Judge Lanzinger is a member of the Ohio Judicial Conference, and currently serves on its statewide Public Confidence and Community Outreach and Ethics and Professionalism Committees. Over the years the judge has also served on the Toledo Junior Bar Executive Committee; Toledo Bar Association Nominating Committee; Toledo Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Committee; Toledo Bar Association Young Lawyers Committee; Toledo Bar Association Membership Committee; Thurgood Marshall Law Association; Citizens Dispute Settlement Mediator; American Inns of Court – Morrison R. Waite Chapter: Ohio Attorney General Pro Bono and Patriot Program, and; UT Paralegal Studies Advisory Board. Outside of work and community service, Josh is devoted to his family. He has always been interested in physical fitness, earning a black belt in Chinese Kempo karate in high school and, as an adult, receiving a personal training certification from the American Council of Exercise. He also enjoys his motorcycle.
