The latest in the battle over the phone call between President Trump and the president of Ukraine is the call for the release of the transcript of the call. Any presidential call to another world leader is recorded and transcribed and any number of people know what's in the call but in this case the whistleblower was no on the actual call. The whistleblower laws say the complaint must be turned over to Congress for an investigation but so far the administration has refused to do that.
President Trump believes releasing the call or transcript would create problems for communications between other world leaders in the future. Nancy Pelosi has set a Thursday deadline for the release of the transcript or she has threatened a new level of investigation.
