In a surprise move yesterday Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, decided to no longer sell handgun ammunition in its' stores. Along with that decision they will no longer sell handguns in Alaska, or short barrel rifles in their stores nationwide. The store said it will gear its focus toward long-barrel deer rifles and shotguns, supplying much of the ammunition they require and providing hunting and sporting accessories and apparel. According to CEO Doug McMillon "We have a long heritage as a company of serving responsible hunters and sportsmen and women, and we're going to continue doing so,"
Is the decision just a PC reaction to the recent mass shootings, or a responsible move by a good corporate citizen?
