Ohio Gov Mike DeWine has put forth a gun reform proposal he would like to see passed by the Ohio legislature quickly. The governor considers it a multi-pronged plan which includes removal of guns from people considered a danger to themselves or others, background checks for all sales, better mental health care. There are a total of 16 actions the governor wants the state legislature to take to address gun violence in the state.
DeWine wants to increase sentences for violent felons caught with a gun, prison sentences for "straw men", and increased sentences for people who possess guns they know are illegally purchased.
