The idea behind Coachella, the annual music festival in California, was to keep ticket prices low because big companies like Ticketmaster were charging extra fees. Pearl Jam first performed on the site now used as a protest against those fees. Fast forward a few years and you now have the Coachella Music and Arts Festival running consecutive weekends and ticket prices higher than anything Pearl Jam may have imagined.
