A federal judge in Texas has ruled the current draft registration unconstitutional since it only requires men to register for the military. At this point only men are required to register for a draft even though there hasn't been one since 1973. There are penalties for men who do not register and this ruling opens the door for women to have to register also. The judges's ruling stopped short of ordering the Selective Service from doing so, so at this point there is no change.
