At approximately 8a Monday morning a decades old water main broke under the streets in the neighborhood around Galena and Chase streets. Residents woke to find water blocking the streets and some found it had flooded into their basements. City officials were quick to point out the age of the pipe and city workers had the main shut down by early afternoon.
