City Making Effort To Help Downtown Business With Street Closures

The City of Toledo, in partnership with ConnecToledo, and several Downtown bars and restaurants, announced temporary street closures today to help increase business by allowing seating in the public right-of-way.

Stop by the locations on the map below to enjoy food and drink in the Outdoor Refreshment Areas in a socially distant way. Visit one of your favorite locations 5 p.m. to midnight this Friday, June 12, and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 13. The closures will occur at those times every Friday and Saturday until further notice.

The City of Toledo will provide picnic tables in the street, and many of the establishments will have tables and chairs outdoors.

To comply with COVID-19 guidelines, patrons must be seated at a table to be served in one of these areas. Groups of more than ten people will not be permitted. All alcohol must be purchased from a bar or restaurant and served outdoors in an Outdoor Refreshment Area official cup. The street closures can only continue if the guidelines are followed. Please help bar and restaurant owners by knowing the rules before you go.

The streets that will be closed during the designated times are:

  • Adams Street between 20thand 17thstreets.
  • Adams Street between 15thand 14thstreets.
  • Huron Street between Monroe and Washington streets.

Please be aware that Summit Street is closed downtown for construction.
