Former Ohio Judge Sentenced To Life In Prison For Murder

A former Ohio judge will be spending at least 35 years behind bars for brutally murdering his ex-wife in front of their daughters. 52-year-old Lance Mason was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to the gruesome murder.

In November 2018, Mason attacked his ex-wife, Aisha Fraser, and stabbed her 59 times, killing her in front of their daughters. He also injured a police officer as he tried to flee the scene of the crime in his ex-wife's SUV.

Mason has a history of abuse and was sentenced to four years in jail for assaulting Fraser in 2014. He would only spend one year in jail and was given a job at Cleveland City Hall when he was released, despite protests from local residents.

Fraser's mother, Millicent, addressed the court and asked the judge to sentence Mason to life in prison without the chance of parole.

"You are a vicious liar with no remorse, other than the fact that you ruined your own career. What a monster you are," she said. "We offer you the same lack of mercy you offered our daughter and her children: none."

After the sentence was handed down, Millicent told reporters that she was not upset Mason could get out of prison when he is 87 years old, but was angry that he lied while addressing the court.

"I just hate it so bad because he told a bunch of lies like we were all making up stories," she said. "He was never one to admit the truth."
