Toledo, Cincinnati Mayors Make Friendly Wager On Hockey Series

TOLEDO, Ohio - The mayors of Toledo and Cincinnati are making a friendly wager on the ECHL Central Division Finals.

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley are putting two of their city's most famous dishes on the line as the playoff series between the Walleye and Cyclones gets underway tonight.

Should the Cincinnati Cyclones win the best-of-seven series, Mayor Kapszukiewicz will send Mayor Cranley a care package from Tony Packo's. Should the Walleye prevail, Mayor Cranley will send coney dogs from Gold Star Chili north.

“There is no question the Toledo Walleye will win this series,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “So, I’m going to need to figure out how many calories are in the Gold Star Coney Crate so I can continue to be successful on Toledo’s wellness and weight loss challenge even after I win this bet.”

The series starts tonight in Cincinnati and then returns to the Huntington Center for Games 2, 3 and 4 on April 27th, May 1st and May 3rd.
