PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio - One suspect is dead and two more are in custody after police chase ended in a shootout.
WTOL 11 reports the incident began as a traffic stop on I-75 north of the U.S. 20 exit. Perrysburg Township police pulled over the vehicle with three people inside. One of the car's occupants was arrested before the car sped off. Officers gave chase and the suspect's car eventually crashed into a ditch on Neiderhouse Road.
The suspect fled on foot before firing at pursuing officers. Officers returned fire and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Perrysburg Township Police are asking people to avoid Neiderhouse Road between SR 199 and Thompson Road while they continue their investigation.
