(Toledo, OH) The University of Toledo is making more efforts to "go green."
You'll see students tooling around campus on electric scooters starting fall semester. U-T is launching an electric scotter sharing program, in addition to its Rocket Wheels bicycle sharing effort.
The alternative transportation service for students, faculty, and staff is a way to ease campus traffic congestion, as well as help the environment through the use of battery-powered scooters located at various "hot spots" on campus.
UT participants will download an app to their smartphone to pay for each ride. A service provider charges a dollar to unlock the scooter, plus 15 cents per minute.
