(Columbus, OH) Former Toledo-area coin dealer Tom Noe will make another bid for clemency this year.
Noe will get a hearing before the Ohio Parole Board in October after Governor John Kasich urged the panel to reconsider the case.
The parole board recommended against clemency last month, three years after denying Noe's first request. Noe is serving an 18-year sentence for stealing from a rare coin fund used by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
Noe has already served a federal sentence for a conviction related to an election fundraising scheme during President Bush's re-election campaign when he was a top Lucas County Republican official.
