Solar Field to Go Into Overland Industrial Park

(Toledo, OH) The Overland Industrial Park is about to go solar. The Toledo Plan Commission meets in special session today, being asked to approve a site plan and special-use permit to add a solar panel field to the former Jeep plant site.

The two solar panel arrays would  be located on 25 acres along a former road construction storage and staging site between I-75 and Jeep Parkway.

The raised solar field will be surrounded by chain link fence and landscaping to offset facility from passing traffic. The solar arrays are expected to generate two megawatts of power, which is enough to power about 350 typical homes.

The electricity will be used by Dana's nearby Toledo Driveline plant, also located in the Overland Industrial Park.
