(Columbus, OH) Toledo Teamsters will be among those headed to the state capitol for a pension rally today.
Union leaders and organized labor from across the state will gather on Capitol Square today for a rally to preserve the pensions of hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Car caravans and busloads of active and retired Teamsters, Mineworkers, and other union workers are being mobilized by pension action committees, who are calling on the Congressional Joint Select Committee on Pensions to find a solution to what's being called a pension crisis.
The pension plans of teamsers, mineworkers, ironworkers and carpenters are all on the brink of failure. The rally comes just one day before a Congressional hearing being held in Columbus on the issue.
Both of Ohio's senators sit on that committee and will take testimony Friday from pensioners and union officials.
