(Toledo, OH) The University of Toledo Medical Center is celebrating cancer survivors this evening.
Stories of inspiration will be shared widely, as nearly 200 survivors and their loved ones, along with doctors, nurses and other care providers, are expected to attend the fourth annual Cancer Survivorship Celebration at UTMC's Dana Cancer Center.
Cancer survivors and their guests will enjoy live music, refreshments, and have a chance to participate in a collaborative mural painting with a local artist. Experts also will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice for survivors in caring for themselves during and after cancer treatment with the aim of extending their quality of life as long as possible.
The event runs 5:30 to 8 p.m. and is being held in recognition of National Cancer Survivor Month in June.
