The Metroparks Toledo is expected to approve a management agreement with the city of Toledo today for the Bike Share program. Metroparks secured a quarter-million dollar grant to buy and install 100 bikes, 150 racks, and other equipment at 18 stations in and around downtown.
Toledo city officials will take ownership of the bikes, but contract with a company known as the Gotcha Group to operate the bike share program, the same company from where the Metroparks bought the equipment.
Toledo's top brass will give more information about how the program will operate at a public meeting tonight. The so-called Community Bike Conversation will be attened by Toledo's mayor and other top city officials at Wildwood Metropark starting at 4 p.m.
