More Hunting Ahead in Northwest Ohio

(Columbus, OH) There will be more hunting allowed in Northwest Ohio this fall.

Lucas, Erie and Hancock counties have been added for the fall wild turkey season, which starts in mid-October and runs through Thanksgiving. Turkey hunting in Ohio this fall now will include 70 of Ohio's 88 counties.

There's also a big change coming for the upcoming deer gun season statewide. The Ohio Wildlife Council passed a modification that only antlered deer can be taken from public hunting areas following the week-long gun season, which runs from Thanksgiving to December second.

All of the fall hunting seasons in Ohio later this year now have set schedules, beginning with deer archery season in late September.
