Three School Administrators Arrested In 'Fight Club' Probe

Three school administrators were arrested following an investigation into a "fight club" run by a substitute teacher at Montville High School in Connecticut. Police say that  23-year-old substitute math teacher Ryan Fish, who was arrested last week, started the "fight club" in October 2017. They said he encouraged students to fight each other at least three times during class while other students watched. Fish was charged with four counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, two counts risk of injury to a minor and a single count of breach of peace.

Police said that the three administrators all knew about the fights but did not report them to authorities. The three turned themselves into police and were charged with failure of a mandated reporter to report abuse. They are due to appear in court on May 3rd.

Lauren Pallin, the assistant superintendent of schools said that all three have been "placed on leave pending the outcome of our internal investigation."

Today is a sad day for our district. Three well-known and highly respected members of the Montville Public Schools administrative team turned themselves in to state police Troop E this morning. These people are not only my colleagues, but they are my friends.  As of today, the superintendent, the high school principal, and the assistant principal have been placed on leave pending the outcome of our internal investigation as well as the ongoing state police investigation.
