Ohio Senate Passes Laws For NW Ohio Murdered Women

(Columbus, OH)  Bills named for two murdered northwest Ohio women are moving through the Ohio legislature.

"Sierah's Law" and the "Reagan Tokes Act" passed the state Senate Wednesday.

The measure named for former Evergreen HS and University of Toledo student Sierah Joughin would create a registry of violent offenders. Senator Randy Gardner (R-Bowling Green), the bill's sponsor said passage would keep more Ohioans safe.

The bill named for murdered former Anthony Wayne HS student Reagan Tokes would change how violent offenders are sentenced and how they're released from prison.

Both bills move to the Ohio House.
