Teen Arrested For Making Threats To Maumee, St. John's High Schools

MAUMEE, Ohio - A 14-year-old freshman at Maumee High School is under arrest, charged with making terroristic threats to Maumee and St. John's High Schools. 

Both high schools were closed Thursday after receiving the anonymous threats. WTOL 11 reports the threat to St. John's was received Wednesday night, prompting officials to decide to close the next morning. The threat to Maumee High was circulated via the social media app Snapchat. School officials made the decision to close after students had begun to arrive for the school day. 

Maumee Police identified a 14-year-old Maumee youth as having made the threats to both schools. The youth has been arrested and will face felony charges for making terroristic threats. The teen is scheduled to face a judge on Friday.
