Former WLS Supt. to Be Sworn in to School Board

(Toledo, OH) A polarizing educator will be sworn-in tonight amid an expected protest.

Former Washington Local Schools superintendent Patrick Hickey is expected to be sworn in as a new member of that district's board of education, despite a ban from school property that remains in place. That ban was never removed by the outgoing school board at its final meeting last month.

However, Hickey's new colleagues could lift the ban, allowing him to attend his first meeting in person.

There is also a planned protest outside Washington local's administrative offices before the meeting by former students in a Michigan school district who claim Hickey is responsible for a pattern of sexual abuse of teen girls when he was a teacher and basketball coach in the Addison school district.
