Maumee City Council to Expand Wolcott House

(Maumee, OH) Maumee city council meets in special session Monday evening with a big project in store.

Maumee city officials are pushing a plan for a $2 million building at the Wolcott House Historical Complex. Maumee would apply for $1.5 million in the next state capital improvements budget, but contribute $500,000 matching funds from its own capital improvements fund.

The long-term vision for the Wolcott House includes a building with meeting space for school class visits and wedding receptions, new bathrooms, a catering kitchen, and basement storage space.

The Wolcott House is maintained by the Maumee Valley historical society to give visitors a picture of pioneer life back in the 1880's. The special session begins at 5 p.m.
