Bowe Bergdahl Pleads Guilty To Desertion And Misbehavior

Accused Army deserter and former Taliban prisoner Bowe Bergdahl is pleading guilty to desertion and misbehavior.  Reporters inside the court say the judge is vigorously questioning Bergdahl, to make sure he fully understands what he is agreeing to by entering the guilty pleas.

Bergdahl has said he doesn't believe he would receive a fair trial because of comments made by President Trump.  During his campaign, Trump called the sergeant a traitor.  The 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment trooper walked off his combat outpost in Afghanistan in 2009, which led to his capture by the Taliban.

Former President Obama approved a plan to gain his release in exchange for five Taliban leaders.  Six soldiers died hunting for Bergdahl.
