(Maumee, OH) Maumee city officials are looking into the theft of public monies from the municipal court there.
Maumee City Council quietly held a special meeting Saturday afternoon, to consider the mayor's request to ask the state auditor's fraud division to conduct a "full and transparent independent audit of the alleged theft of funds."
There's no word on who may be responsible or how much was stolen. No criminal charges have been filed.
More may be known tonight, as Maumee city council meets in regular session at 7 p.m.
