TOLEDO, Ohio - A team of Toledo firefighters are heading to Houston to help with recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey.
Eight members of the Toledo Fire Department are part of the Special Operations Bureau and are highly trained in rescue operations. The Special Operations Bureau oversees the department’s technical rescue programs which include our hazardous materials team, confined space team, structural collapse, high-angle rope rescue, dive team, and surface water rescue.
The team is awaiting final approval for their deployment and will be gone for eight days once approval is given.
