University of Toledo Begins New Academic Year

(Toledo, OH) Toledo's population expands by about 20,000 people over the next week.

Today marks the start of move-in for thousands of University of Toledo students for the beginning of the new academic year. UT's president will help some of those students unpack their belongings at Carter Hall on Friday morning.

There's a new student convocation at the Glass Bowl Sunday afternoon, followed by the start of classes Monday morning.

But there are also a number of Welcome Week activities planned across campus, including a Foam Party Friday night, a slip-n-slide, kickball, and field day Saturday afternoon, and a bonfire that evening. The president will throw a tailgate party outside Rocket Hall next Thursday, right before UT's home football opener.
