The Sandusky County courthouse reopens to the public today after an expensive facelift.
County commissioners spent nearly $6 million to upgrade security, update offices and courtrooms, and install new heating and cooling systems that will save on future energy costs.
Individual offices in the 173-year old courthouse in Fremont will reopen gradually this week. Judges and county workers are moving back into the courthouse after spending nearly a year in temporary quarters at Terra State Community College while the extensive renovations took place.
A rededication ceremony is set for early next month.
