COLUMBUS, Ohio - Secretary of State Jon Husted has appointed David Karmol to fill the vacant seat on the Lucas County Board of Elections.
"The appointment of Mr. Karmol today is a positive step towards restoring order and professionalism to the Lucas County Board of elections," Secretary Husted said. "Restoring trust takes time, but I am hopeful that this appointment is a good beginning of that process in Lucas County."
Mr. Karmol will fill the unexpired term of James Hartley, who was removed in April. Secretary Husted removed Hartley saying Hartley used the Board of Elections to "advance pretty self-interests or exercise personal vendettas."
