75 Years Ago Today, The Doolittle Raid Took Place

On April 18, 1942, Colonel James Doolittle lead a squadron of sixteen B-25B Mitchell medium bombers on a mission to raise the morale of U.S. forces in the Pacific and to show Japan that American forces were capable of attacking their home islands. 80 airmen took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, 7 never came home.
