The Big Red Machine is stepping into another kind of ring. Glenn Jacobs, who has been known to WWE fans as Kane for the last 20 years, announced yesterday that he would be running for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Wrestlers becoming politicians isn't unprecedented. Jesse "The Body" Ventura famously won a term as governor of Minnesota in 1998. He served as mayor of Brooklyn Park, MN before that. And Terry Gerin, better known as Rhyno, ran this past November for a seat in the Michigan House of Representatives.
As for Jacobs, I hope he enters all county commissioner meetings like this:
