Precautionary Boil Advisory Issued In Detroit and Glendale Area

TOLEDO, Ohio - The City of Toledo has issued a precautionary boil advisory for residents in the Detroit and Glendale area.

The advisory effects residents who live in an area bounded by the following: South of Arlington from the Anthony Wayne Trail to Byrne Rd., East of Byrne Rd. from Arlington to Glanzman, north of Glanzman from Byrne Rd. to Detroit Ave., West of Detroit Ave. from Glanzman to Delaware Creek, and the Anthony Wayne Trail from Delaware Creek to Arlington.

While the advisory is in effect, residents are advised to bring all water for personal consumption to a boil, let it boil for at least three minutes, and then let it cool before use. Boiled water should be used for drinking, ice making, brushing teeth, washing dishes and for all food preparation.

The advisory will expire tomorrow, Friday, March 24, at 5 pm.

An electrical malfunction at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant Thursday cased water pressure to drop across the city. The problem at the plant was fixed, but the City says the boil advisory is just a precaution. City workers will be going door-to-door in the Detroit and Glendale area to deliver the notices to residents.
