Suspect Questioned in Hit-And-Run That Killed Cleveland Officer

Cleveland Police are questioning a suspect in the search for the driver who struck and killed a fellow officer Tuesday morning.

Cleveland Police Officer David Fahey, 39, was killed while placing road flares on I-90 to divert traffic at about 6:00 am. The white Toyota Camry then fled the scene of the accident. Cleveland police had only the make, model, and color of the car, along with a partial license plate number. They later found the vehicle in Lorain, OH, on East 31st St.

Cleveland mayor Frank Jackson, Cleveland Safety Director Michael McGrath, and Cleveland Police Chief Calvin D. Williams all put out statements of sympathy after this morning's tragedy.
